CONGENTO is a Portuguese Research Infrastructure synergizing 4 prominent biomedical research institutions, oriented to the needs of the academic and non-academic, public and private R&D+I communities requiring the three main non-human animal models – rodents, zebrafish and fruit fly – to generate knowledge and value in the biomedical field.

Governance
CONGENTO governance structure assures a good connection between all the nodes, guaranteeing that all goals are met, through mechanisms that combine a clear definition of roles, participation, and flexibility. Being a distributed infrastructure, it is strategically led by a Steering Committee and implemented by a structure that includes 2 representatives of each member institute and the executive manager.

Operational Structure
CONGENTO has defined Working-Groups dedicated to each of its areas of action. This is a dynamic structure, that involves people from all the nodes, and that is adjustable as needed. In fact, since the beginning of the infrastructure, several new Working-Groups have been created, as new ideas and challenges have arisen.
